Hamish Purdy

Hamish Forrest Purdy (* in Vancouver ) is a Canadian production designer .

Life

Purdy grew up in Vancouver, where he attended the University of Victoria and the University of British Columbia . He made his debut in 1992 on the staff of an independent film set in Vancouver , Impolite . Until the late 1990s he worked on some television productions; his participation in larger film projects was not mentioned in the credits during this time. In the early 2000s, he worked on major Hollywood productions such as Riddick: Chronicles of a Warrior , Sucker Punch and Man of Steel . For his collaboration with Jack Fisk on The Revenant , he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Production Design in 2016 .

He lives in Vancouver with his wife and they have three children.
