The Hammerbach branches off to the left of the Isar at a weir at river kilometer 78.5. After about three kilometers it takes the Klötzlmühlbach from the left and after another 1.4 kilometers it flows into the Kleine Isar in the urban area of Landshut .

history

The name of the Hammerbach was given by the water-powered copper and iron hammer , which stood about three hundred meters from the confluence with the Kleine Isar on the left bank. Opposite the hammer on the right, the paper mill was in operation from 1489 to 1872. Today there is a mill for organic grain there.

The Hammerbach used to have a much shorter course and only branched off to the left of the Isar at river kilometer 76.47.
