Han Jinyu , ( Chinese  韩瑾瑜 ; born August 8, 1979 in Beijing ), also known under the name TingTing or TingTing Han , is an oil painter who specializes in portraits , still lifes and landscape painting. She mainly paints in the style of realism but also modern .

Life

At the age of three, her mother enrolled her in training in traditional Chinese art with the famous Wang Shengjun. Until she was 15, she learned and refined her knowledge of the four traditional Chinese arts: painting , poetry (first Shi , then Ci ), making seals and calligraphy .

From the age of 16, Han began to develop her skills in the Western visual arts . Oddly enough, up to this point she had no interest in Western culture or the Western visual arts. However, she had to acquire knowledge in these subjects in order to be admitted to the university later. She worked hard on the new techniques and continued to improve her skills as an artist in charcoal and pen drawings, gouache, watercolor and oil painting. She worked with the components of landscapes, still lifes and portraits of classical realism.

At 16, on the advice of her tutor, she enrolled in the graphic design preparation course for Tsinghua University , which ran for three years. He did not give this advice because he doubted her artistic abilities, but because he feared that traditional art for her - like for many other brilliant artists - could be a breadless art and that the professional opportunities in graphic design are better. At the end of the course, she failed the entrance exam. Her mother then recommended that she apply to the Central University of the Arts to study fine arts. She passed the difficult admission test (then in the following year) at the first attempt. This is a remarkable achievement because the “first attempt approval” was last passed 50 years before it.

Between the ages of 20 and 25, she studied oil painting at the Central University of the Arts. This subject area is divided into four sub-areas: Renaissance , Realism , Impressionism and Modern , Abstract Painting . Her main subjects were portraits and still lifes.

In 2004 she successfully completed her studies and her thesis Death and Angel won the gold medal in a competition with her 300 fellow students.

In the following years she also worked as a lecturer for the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, as well as in other universities in other provinces of China .

In 2008 she became a member of the Beijing Oil Painting Society . It is particularly interesting that Han Jinyu is the youngest of the 300 members of this society, which one can only join by invitation. The society has also stopped inviting new members since 2008.

Han is also a performing member of the Peking Opera and has painted a self-portrait in her role.

Her paintings can be found in private and public collections in China, Germany, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Thailand and the USA.

In May 2010 she was selected for an annual scholarship from the Bösenberg Foundation and spent the time in the Künstlerhaus Meinersen eV

In the course of the year she succeeded in creating new works of art with components, objects and compositions that were new for her.
