Hana Matelová (born June 8, 1990 in Zlín ) is a Czech table tennis player . She took part in the 2016 Olympic Games .

Career

In 2005 the Czech appeared internationally for the first time, at the European Schoolchildren Championship she was able to reach the round of 32. Further appearances followed only in 2008, as she was rarely used by her association to play internationally. So she was one of the best players in Europe from an early age, which she proved at the Europe TOP 10 tournament, where she came in sixth.

In addition, Matelova was able to take part in the World Youth Championship, where she could reach the second round in singles and doubles. In 2009 she won the Champions League with her club SKST Esad Hodonin , where she played until 2011. In 2010 she took part in her first European championship for adults and was able to reach the second round in singles and doubles, she lost to Shan Xiaona .

In 2011 she was nominated by the association for the world championship , but failed in the qualification. Matelova also won bronze for the first time in a double at the European Championships . Because of poor results, as well as little participation in international tournaments, she was not nominated for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . However, she was able to reach the second round with the team at the World Cup and the European Championship.

The year 2013 was quite successful for the Czech: within a month she managed to win two medals (bronze) in the team and doubles competition at the European Championship and the silver medal at the Czech Open .

In 2014 she made it to the quarter-finals with the team at the EM . In 2015 she won bronze with the team after a quarter-final victory over Poland . As a result, she qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. There she failed in both competitions (individual and team) in the second round.

In 2017 and 2018 she also took part in the EM.
