The Handball Association Berlin e. V. (HVB) is one of the 22 regional associations of the German Handball Federation (DHB).

The founding meeting of the handball association Berlin took place on November 11, 1949 in the north-north-west casino. Kurt Dräger (BSC Rehberge) was elected 1st chairman . He remained in office until his death in December 1963. Until the end of the 1951/52 season there was a joint game operation for the clubs from the western and eastern parts of the city. Dräger's successor as chairman was Ernst Zuberbier (1964–1971), followed by Wolfgang Krüger (1971–1994) and Henning Opitz (1994–2012).

Today the handball association Berlin has around 12,000 members. Thomas Ludewig has been president since April 2012. The top-class club for men are the Füchse Berlin , who play in the Bundesliga.
