history

In October 1845, the combined Kauf- und Krameramt decided to open a commercial school in Hameln , which (with an interruption of several years) existed until the Kauf- und Krameramt was dissolved in 1875. In December 1877, the commercial school was reopened under the sponsorship of the newly founded "commercial association".

At Easter 1906, the school became the responsibility of the city of Hameln and moved into a permanent school building at Gröninger Straße 18. At Easter 1911, the commercial school, today's business school , was set up as the first full-time school. The first one-year business school became the two-year business school in 1932. In 1916 the higher commercial school was established . At that time, 108 students were attending the school. There were 3 teachers, one of whom was the principal. In 1935, the name "Städtische Handelslehranstalten Hameln" became established. The number of full-time students rose to around 180 by 1938.

In 1939 a class for bankers was established. In autumn 1945 classes were resumed with difficulties (lack of teaching materials, no school building of their own). On April 29, 1949, the school moved into the new building on Langen Wall. The number of students had increased again to 180 full-time and 590 vocational students. At Easter 1953, the business school was set up as a new full-time school form, from which the vocational high school later developed.

On April 1, 1968, the district of Hameln-Pyrmont became the new school body for the commercial schools. On August 1, 1972, the technical college -Wirtschaft- was established. In 1974 the "Handelslehranstalten" was renamed "Handelslehranstalt". On August 1, 1978, the two-year vocational school - business assistant - (today with a focus on foreign languages and correspondence) was established.

On February 1, 1987, the school moved to its current location at Mühlenstrasse 16. Including the building of the technical high school and the former school building of the Eugen Reintjes School, a modern school complex was created through extensive renovations and extensions, so that all other school locations were given up were.
