Trade Association North
The Handelsverband Nord eV (HV Nord) represents the interests of entrepreneurs who run retail in the federal states of Hamburg , Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . This also includes entrepreneurs and companies involved in the mail order business to and from Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The main office is in Kiel . The association has further offices in Hamburg, Schwerin , Rostock and Neubrandenburg .
The association represents around 32,600 retail companies in Hamburg , Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The member companies of HV Nord together generate 80% of the total retail industry in the association's area. This makes it one of the largest business and employer associations in the north. The core areas of his lobbying work are labor law , city management, location issues, and traffic planning.
HV Nord is a founding member of the HDE. It belongs to the HDE as a regional association .

HV Nord emerged from the renaming of the retail association North (EHV Nord). With the new name, the association takes into account the alignment of naming in the entire trade organization at national as well as regional level.
HV Nord has been hosting North German Retailers' Day every year since 2008 . Every year the motto of the event highlights a certain aspect of entrepreneurial activity. North German retail companies that are particularly successful, creative and committed in the market according to the conference motto will be awarded a prize.

With effect from November 17, 2015, the change from the Retail Association North (EHV Nord) to Handelsverband Nord (HV Nord) will be implemented.
On May 23, 2013, the members of the North Retail Association (EHV Nord) and the Hamburg Retail Trade Associations (FHE) decided to merge under the umbrella of the EHV Nord . The merger took effect on July 1, 2013.
At the end of 2006 the name was changed from Retail Association North-East eV Schleswig-Holstein / Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to Retail Association North eV Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein / Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. At the same time, the professional associations of the Hamburg retail trade (FHE) were included as a regional association in the Northern Retail Association.
The EHV Nord-Ost eV emerged on January 1, 1994 from the merger of the Schleswig-Holstein Retail Association with the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Retail Association, which was founded in 1990. The forerunner of the Retail Association Schleswig-Holstein is the Kiel Retailers Association .
The forerunner of the professional associations of the Hamburg retail trade (FHE) is the Chamber of Commerce in Hamburg founded in 1904. The beginnings of organized retail in Hamburg go back a long way in history. As early as 1375, the small traders from Hamburg merged as a profession to form the Krameramt.
