Hanna Nagel Prize

The Hanna Nagel Prize is an art prize that is initially awarded annually, but now only every two years. It was launched in 1998 and promotes contemporary female visual artists who are over 40 years old and live in the Karlsruhe district . The award was named after the Heidelberg draftswoman and graphic artist Hanna Nagel (1907–1975), who attended the Baden State Art School a . a. studied with Karl Hubbuch and was a representative of the New Objectivity .

The group of founders was formed by five Karlsruhe presidents: Jutta Limbach , former President of the Federal Constitutional Court ; Gerlinde Hämmerle , former district president of the Karlsruhe administrative district; Margareta Barth , President of the State Institute for the Environment, Measurements and Nature Conservation Baden-Württemberg; Hildegard Gerecke , Karlsruhe Police President and Heike Haseloff-Grupp , President of the State Social Court of Baden-Württemberg; In 2005, Attorney General Christine Hügel was added. By 2015, the group of founders was expanded to include Andrea Heck, President of the Regional Finance Directorate Karlsruhe, District President Nicolette Kressl and Bettina Limperg , President of the Federal Court of Justice.
