Hanna Donath
Hanna Donath or Julia Donath (born October 10, 1979 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German author and journalist .
Life
Hanna Donath is the second of four children (she has two sisters and a brother) and grew up in a Jewish family in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . Her father is a Slovak with Hungarian roots who studied in Frankfurt as a result of the Prague Spring and then stayed there. Her mother comes from Poland and also studied in Frankfurt, where she met her future husband. The grandparents were interned in various camps during the National Socialist era . A grandmother was in Auschwitz and told her life story in Hungarian to Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation .
From 1999 to 2004 Hanna Donath studied sociology , German , film and media studies in Marburg (degree: MA ). Since 2005 she has been working as a freelance journalist in Fulda for a stock exchange and financial service provider and as an online editor for a music magazine. Since 2007 she has been working as a full-time editor for the family magazine Familie & Co in Freiburg .
