Hanne Margrethe Borchsenius (born November 30, 1935 in Frederiksberg , † March 19, 2012 in Charlottenlund ) was a Danish actress .

Life

Hanne Borchsenius was the daughter of the furniture dealer Johannes Alfred Borchsenius († 1969) and his wife, the director Johanne Gudrun Linde († 1989). After graduating from school, she first tried to gain a foothold in the advertising industry as a photo model. From 1957 to 1960 she completed an acting training at the theater school Royal Theater ( Det kongelige Teaters elevskole ) in Copenhagen. She made her film debut in 1956 in the Danish drama Spring of Love ( Ung le g) and in 1957 she had her first leading role in the film Natlogi betalt as Bente Jessen. She also played the role of Søs in the 1961 film Far til fire med fuld musik . The role of Fräulein Monalisa Jacobsen in the Støv film series, which included the films Støv på hjernen (1961), Det støver stadig (1962), Støv for alle pengene (1963) and Passer passer piger (1965 ), ensured her further fame in Denmark ) belong. From 1956 to 1988 she worked continuously as an actress.

Until 1964 she was firmly committed to Det kongelige Teater and then she was active in Det ny Teater . She lived in New York for the next five years , where she appeared in various productions and roles at Broadway theaters until 1970 . During this time, Borchsenius regularly traveled back to Denmark for her appearances for corresponding engagements in Danish film projects. After her permanent return to her homeland, Borchsenius was employed again at the Det kongelige Teater, where for several years he participated in many performances in various theater roles. During this period she also had other collaborations and guest appearances as a theater actress in the Odense Teater , ABC Teatret , Bristol Teatret and the Aveny Teatret . In 1985 she was dismissed from the Royal Theater and thereafter mainly only had sporadic appearances at various Danish theaters.

Her husband and fellow actor Axel Strøbye often accompanied Borchsenius on his tours and appeared with him in some of his film and theater engagements. She was married to him from 1974 until his death in 2005. According to the published biography of Axel Strøbye, Hanne Borchsenius experienced prolonged tablet abuse , which led to cognitive difficulties and other health problems. This led to a deterioration in her relationships with friends and acquaintances as well as with the children brought into the marriage by her husband.

Hanne Borchsenius was married four times and had no children of her own. She died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 76 .
