Hannelore Hanft

Hannelore Hanft (* 1932 , married Hannelore Gießler ) is a former German table tennis player from the 1950s. She won twelve titles at GDR championships.

Hanft was a defender. In 1949 she won the individual competition at the GDR youth championships, which were held for the first time. She played for the club BSG Einheit Ost Erfurt, with whom she won the GDR women's team championship in 1953/54 and 1954/55. At the GDR individual championships, she won twelve titles, namely once in singles, five times in doubles and six times in mixed. She always competed in doubles with Grete Herber . Until 1954, GDR activists were also allowed to take part in the National German Championships . Hanft / Gerber took advantage of this and won the German championship in doubles in 1953. With the team from Thuringia, Hanft won the German Cup in 1953/54 .

When an all-German team competed at the 1955 World Cup in Utrecht, hemp was nominated for this. She reached 16th place with the women's team. In the individual, she prevailed against Gisele Jeannotin (France). Then she lost to Nel Groot from the Netherlands. In doubles with Kohn , she failed in the first round to the later semi-finalists Fujie Eguchi / Kiiko Watanabe from Japan. The mixed with Heinz Schneider advanced one round against Günter Hoffmann / Eva Graf (Saarland), but then lost to Toshiaki Tanaka / Shizuka Narahara (Japan).

In the overall German ranking, Hanft was in fifth place in 1954.
