Renate Kohn (table tennis player)

Renate Kohn (born January 31, 1935 ) is a former East German table tennis player . She took part in the 1955 World Cup.

Kohn played in the club SC Einheit Berlin , with whose women's team she was GDR champions in 1956 and 1957. She was also successful at the individual championships. With Monika Wiskandt she won the GDR championship in doubles in 1956 after a second place in 1954. She reached the semi-finals in 1956 in singles and in 1957 in doubles with Gisela Moritz and in mixed with Heinz Reimann .

In 1955 she was nominated for the individual competitions of the World Cup in Utrecht. Here she was eliminated in the individual qualifying round against Elsie Carrington (England). The doubles with Hannelore Hanft were also defeated by the Japanese Fujie Eguchi / Kiiko Watanabe in the first round . In mixed with Lothar Pleuse , she survived the qualifying round by winning over André Steckler / Margo Van Wijk (Switzerland / Netherlands) and Peter Pudney / Jean Mackay (England). Then it was the end of the line against Vilim Harangozo / Gertrude Pritzi (Japan / Austria).

Kohn is married to the table tennis player Heinz Reimann .
