Hannelore Wegener

Hannelore Wegener (born April 21, 1940 in Chemnitz ) is a German painter, writer and illustrator .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1958, he studied German and art education at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig from 1959 to 1963 . She then worked as a teacher until 1974. In the period from 1979 to 1991 she worked as an artistic assistant in a children and youth center in Hermsdorf and then switched to the Hermsdorfer Holzland-Gymnasium as an art teacher until 1997. Since 1976 she was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR .

She gained fame through the fables and fairy tale books translated into several languages , which she published with her husband and Klaus Götze at the Karl Nitzsche publishing house, which were designed as activity books (with handicraft instructions). Together with him she also writes pure craft books.
