Hannes Adomeit

Hannes Adomeit (* 1942 in Memel ) is a German political scientist.

Life

After studying political science at the Free University of Berlin , gaining a doctorate from Columbia University in New York and teaching and research stays in London (International Institute for Strategic Studies), Glasgow (Institute on Soviet and East European Studies), Kingston, Ontario (Queens University and Royal Military College of Canada) and Santa Monica, California ( RAND Corporation ), Adomeit was Professor of International Politics at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts from 1989 to 1997 .

From 1979 to 1989 and from 1997 to December 2007 he was a research assistant at the Science and Politics Foundation in Berlin and then until 2013 Professor of Eastern European Studies at the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw). He currently works at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) at Johns Hopkins University . He is also a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University and was a member of the former Transatlantic Academy in Washington, DC
