Hannes Obererlacher (born December 27, 1962 in Ginzling ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

Hannes Obererlacher is a civil servant and lives in Obertilliach . In 1990 he started biathlon. The Austrian celebrated his biathlon world cup debut as 75th in the individual in 1992 in Pokljuka . It took a year for Obererlacher to win his first World Cup points in a sprint race in 24th place. In 1994 he was able to achieve his best result in the World Cup by finishing eighth in a sprint in Ruhpolding . Subsequently, Obererlacher took part in the biathlon world championships for the first time in Antholz . The best result was rank 35 in the individual. In 1997 he won his only World Cup, a team race, with Reinhard Neuner , Ludwig Gredler and Wolfgang Perner . He contested his last World Cup race in 1997 in Novosibirsk . Today he works in an official capacity for the Australian Biathlon Association.
