Reinhard Neuner (born February 4, 1969 in Mieming ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

Reinhard Neuner is a sports soldier and lives in his birthplace Mieming. In 1987 he started biathlon. In the Biathlon World Cup he made his debut in 1993 in Kontiolahti as 53rd in an individual. In 1994 he achieved World Cup points for the first time as 23rd in the Ruhpolding sprint . At the beginning of the 1994/95 season , Neuner was seventh in an individual in Pokljuka for the first time and was placed in the top ten. At the end of the season he started his first biathlon world championships in Antholz . The best result was a 17th place in the individual. In the 1995/96 season , the Austrian achieved his best result in an individual race as fifth in the Osrblie individual. The subsequent World Cup in Ruhpolding was unsatisfactory for Neuner. At the site of the 1996 World Cup, he won a team race in 1997 together with Wolfgang Perner , Ludwig Gredler and Hannes Obererlacher . The 1997 World Cup did not bring any significant results again, although Neuner competed in five races. The highlight of Neuner's career was his participation in the 1998 Winter Olympics . In the sprint he reached the 62nd rank and was eleventh with the relay. By the end of his career in 2001, Neuner competed in 1999 in Kontiolahti and on Holmenkollen in Oslo and again in Oslo in 2000 World Championships without good results. He won the last World Cup points in 2000 in seventh place in the Oberhof sprint . Today Neuner works for the Austrian Biathlon Association.
