Hanno Steckel (born February 26, 1972 in Oldenburg (Oldb) ) is a German specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery . He works as a treating doctor, scientist and university professor and appears in the media as an expert on the musculoskeletal system .

Career

Hanno Steckel grew up in Oldenburg i. O. and graduated from high school in 1991. He studied human medicine at the Universities of Kiel , Münster , Paris (France) and Denver (Colorado, USA). In 1998 he did his doctorate at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster on the surgical topic “Risk factors for the development of incisional hernias and for the development of incisional hernia recurrence”. From 1998 to 2005 the orthopedic specialist training took place at the universities of Essen and Göttingen. In 2006 Hanno Steckel received an annual scholarship from the Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery and spent the entire year at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine under the direction of Freddie H. Fu. From 2007 to 2009 Steckel worked as a senior physician at Berlin academic teaching hospitals before becoming medical director of the MVZ-VITALIS in Berlin in 2009.

In 2008 Hanno Steckel completed his habilitation at the Georg-August University of Göttingen on the knee surgery topic "The double bundle concept for anatomical anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction" and was appointed as an adjunct professor in 2012 as an adjunct professor with the right to teach orthopedics and trauma surgery at the University of Göttingen.

Even before the publication of his book “Ingeniously mobile!” In April 2018, Hanno Steckel often appeared in the media as an expert on the musculoskeletal system on various topics.

Functions in scientific associations

Hanno Steckel is a Fellow of the European Board of Orthopedics Traumatology (FEBOT) and examiner of the Berlin Medical Association and a member of the MRI Quality Assurance Commission of the Berlin Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians .
