Hanns Backes

Hanns Backes (born February 1, 1925 in Kaldenkirchen ; † August 6, 2015 in Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending primary and secondary school and training as a teacher, he worked as a primary and secondary school teacher, most recently as secondary school director. Backes had been a member of the CDU since 1949.

He was married and had two sons.

MP

From May 29, 1980 to May 31, 1990 Backes was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in each constituency 057 Viersen II. From 1980 to 1995, pure SPD governments ruled NRW ( Rau II , Rau III , Rau IV ). From 1980 to 1985 ( 9th electoral term ) the CDU was the only opposition party; from 1985 to 1990 ( 10th electoral term ) the CDU and FDP were the opposition parties.

From 1952 to 1970 he was a member of the city council of Kaldenkirchen and from 1973 to 1975 a member of the council of the city of Nettetal .

From March 1970 he was a member of the district council of the Kempen-Krefeld district and, after the regional reform, until 1999 of the district council of the Viersen district .

Public offices

From May 1975 to 1999 he was district administrator for the Viersen district.

Others

On February 1, 1990, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. In 1982 he also received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon and the honorary plaque of the Viersen district.
