The Hanns R. Neumann Foundation (HRNS) (English: Hanns R. Neumann Foundation ) is a non-profit foundation based in Hamburg . Her work focuses on improving the living conditions of coffee growers.

history

HRNS was founded in 2005 by the family of Michael R. Neumann. The foundation capital amounts to 17.5 million euros. According to Neumann, the HRNS works independently of the Neumann Coffee Group . For the tenth anniversary, the foundation capital was increased to 30 million euros.

offices

The foundation has offices in Guatemala , Brazil , Uganda , Ethiopia , Tanzania and Indonesia . The foundation's head office is in Hamburg , Germany and another office is in New York City , USA .

Programs

Neumann says he wants to improve the living conditions of coffee farmers. The Hanns R. Neumann Foundation implements projects and programs in the areas of coffee production, farmer organizations, youth, the environment and the climate. In Uganda, a project on equality between men and women is also being implemented with the aim of achieving greater equality in farming families and village communities.
The Hanns R. Neumann Foundation claims to work with various public and private donors such as USAID , Smuckers , Inter-American Development Bank , Nestlé , Tim Hortons , Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the German Society for International Cooperation . Projects have also been implemented with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Jacobs Foundation .
HRNS also implements the projects of International Coffee Partners GmbH. An initiative founded in 2001 by the coffee companies Lavazza (Italy), Löfbergs (Sweden), Paulig (Finland), Tchibo (Germany) and Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (Germany). Since then, Joh. Johannson (Norway) and Franck (Croatia) have joined the company.
Together with Conservation International , the Hanns R. Neumann Foundation implements the "Initiative for coffee & climate". The aim is to provide coffee farmers with tools to respond to climate change.
Coffee Kids is an independent program of the Hanns R. Neumann Foundation in New York City, USA with a focus on young coffee farmers.
