Hans-Albert Walter (born July 3, 1925 in Kolberg , Pomerania , † February 11, 2005 in Diepholz ) was a German artist.

Walter lived and worked as an artist in Düsseldorf and Diepholz (Lower Saxony) since 1983 . Since 1956 he participated in exhibitions. His works are in private and public ownership. Walter is best known for his large-format number pictures. Rainer Bessling, who published a monograph on the artist in the series Art of the Present from Lower Saxony in 1999 , wrote about him: “Since the early 1970s, he has dealt exclusively with the numbers 0 to 9, the use of which as a subject in images creates the greatest variety of artistic fantasy wins. "

Life

In 1940, at the age of 15, Walter lost his hearing. Nevertheless, he studied in Stettin until 1952 , at the Munich Academy and at the University of Bremen. In 1952 he married Dorothea, b. Mack; In 1954 they moved from Lower Saxony to Düsseldorf, where he worked as an industrial graphic artist. From 1962 he then worked as a freelance artist who had close ties to the Düsseldorf avant-garde and participated in exhibitions by the ZERO group . From 1983 he lived and worked in Diepholz / Lower Saxony and in Düsseldorf.
