Rainer Beßling

Rainer Beßling (also Rainer Bessling ; * 1954 in Recklinghausen ) is a German art critic and cultural journalist .

Live and act

Rainer Beßling studied social sciences , German and history at the Universities of Münster and Bochum . He then started to work as a journalist at the Westfälischer Anzeiger in Hamm and in 1989 became editor-in-chief for the features section and culture editor of the district newspaper Syke .

In 1995 he was at the University of Hanover with a thesis on Johann Georg Sprengel and the German Association of Germanists Dr. phil. PhD .

Rainer Beßling works for the magazine artist and the lexicon artist - critical lexicon of contemporary art . From 2014 to 2016 he was part of the management of the Künstlerhaus Bremen.
