Hans-Bernd Harder

Hans-Bernd Harder (born June 16, 1934 in Hamburg ; † October 30, 1996 in Moscow ) was a German Slavist .

Harder studied Slavic Philology, German Philology, Eastern European History and Philosophy at the Universities of Marburg , Berlin and Frankfurt . In 1961 , under the supervision of Alfred Rammelmeyer , he received his doctorate with a study of the Russian classicist tragedy between 1747 and 1765. He completed his habilitation with a thesis on " Schiller in Russia" in 1966 in Frankfurt. In 1967 he was called to Marburg and taught there until his death. He died during an excursion with students.

Harder was chairman of the Brothers Grimm Society in Kassel from 1984 to 1996 . During his tenure, the exhibition on the 200th birthday of the Brothers Grimm in 1985/86 was organized in Marburg and Kassel.
