Hans-Dieter Koch

Hans-Dieter Koch ( April 19, 1944 - April 22, 2017 ) was a German football player . The defender played twelve games in the Bundesliga from 1967 to 1970 at VfB Stuttgart .

From the youth of the sports community 07 Untertürkheim , Koch came to VfB Stuttgart . For the 1967/68 round, like Günter Eisele and Manfred Weidmann, the VfB amateurs took him over to the team of licensed players. At the same time, Gerhard Heinze and Roland Weidle were delegated from the VfB youth team to coach Gunther Baumann's league squad . On April 6, 1968, the defender made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 29 of the 1967/68 season in the starting line-up of VfB Stuttgart in the away game against Hannover 96 . The former amateur made his home debut one day after his 24th birthday, on April 20, in front of 45,000 spectators against FC Bayern Munich. He had the task of chaining the Bayern goalgetter Gerd Müller and Heinze made his debut in goal. VfB achieved a sensationally clear 3-0 home win. “The young cook delivered such an outstanding game against what would later become the 'Bomber of the Nation' that the striker almost despaired.” Hans-Dieter Koch was also in the remaining season games for VfB for the full season and thus came up with a total six season assignments. In the following season , Koch completed four Bundesliga games, in which he was substituted on. His second appearance in the 1969/70 season on matchday 26 against Hamburger SV was Hans-Dieter Koch's last Bundesliga appearance. He was re-amateurized in the summer of 1970 and returned to the amateur camp.
