Hans-Dieter Mutschler (born September 11, 1946 in Stuttgart ) is a German philosopher. He held the chair for natural philosophy at the Ignatianum School of Philosophy and Education in Krakow , Poland . In numerous publications he deals with the border area between scientific and Christian worldview.

biography

Hans-Dieter Mutschler studied theology , philosophy and physics in Munich , Paris and Frankfurt am Main from 1973 to 1979 . In 1989 he wrote his dissertation at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . His habilitation took place in 1997 at Frankfurt University. Afterwards he held a visiting professorship in Eichstätt in 1998/9 .

In 1997/8 he began to publish the writings on natural science and Marxism (Volume 15 of the Karl Rahner Complete Edition, Herder) and took up his work on the research project Ethical Problems of Artificial Life Technology, which was financed by the Görres Society on. From 2000 he was a full-time employee at the "Tübingen Center for Scientific Cultures". In 2001 he held a further visiting professorship in the field of "Natural Philosophy" at the University of Innsbruck . In 2002 he was given a permanent teaching position at the Carl Gustav Jung Institute in Zurich .

Since 2004 Mutschler has held the chair for natural philosophy at the Ignatianum School of Philosophy and Education in Krakow. From 2006 to 2017 he was also a lecturer in natural philosophy at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen , Frankfurt am Main. In the 2017 summer semester he took over the Klaus Hemmerle endowed professorship at RWTH Aachen University . He also teaches philosophy of biology at the University of Zurich.
