Hans-Dieter Scherthan

Hans-Dieter Scherthan (born July 24, 1943 in Landau in the Palatinate ; † April 17, 2018 in Karlsruhe ) was a German businessman and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Scherthan attended elementary school and then did an administration apprenticeship. He then worked as a commercial employee and later a managing director in the construction industry. From 1977 he was an independent businessman in Ranschbach .

politics

From 1967 to 1970 he was local chairman, from 1973 to 1976 district chairman of the Junge Union . 1968–1973 he was managing director of the CDU Südpfalz and from 1979 district chairman of the CDU.

In 1974 he became local mayor of Ranschbach. At the same time he was a member of the district council from 1974 to 1979. In 1979 he became a member of the municipal council and in 1985 a member of the board of the Rhineland-Palatinate district assembly . Until 1992 he was first district deputy of the CDU district association Südliche Weinstrasse.

In 1983 he was elected to the tenth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he was a member for two terms until 1991. In the state parliament he was a member of the legal committee and the investigation committee "Criminal Case Kanter" in the 10th electoral term and in the 11th electoral term in the committee for economy and transport.

In 1991 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
