Hans-Dieter Schmidt (born January 9, 1948 in Hanover ) is a German football coach .
Career
Hans-Dieter Schmidt was initially a soccer player (among others in the youth and amateurs of Hannover 96 ), but had to end his active career at the age of 23 due to a serious injury. In the following years he made his diploma as a soccer coach and worked for the first years at SV 06 Lehrte .
After coaching SV Meppen for five years and then Eintracht Nordhorn for a year , he went to VfB Oldenburg as the responsible coach , where he became German amateur runner-up in 1988. This was followed by two years as the coach of the amateur team at FC Bayern Munich before he took over the managerial position at Hannover 96 in 1990. During this time he acted as interim coach for two match days until Michael Lorkowski took over the team.
This was followed by further positions as a trainer and manager at VfB Lübeck and VfL Osnabrück before he went abroad for the first time in 1994. He was coach at Baladeia Mehalla in the first division of Egypt. After only a year he moved to the first division of Saudi Arabia to Quadessiah Al Khobar. In 1996 he returned to Germany and took over the managerial position at 1. FC Magdeburg . In September 1996 he also took over as a coach and celebrated a. a. promotion to the regional league . After his release in the fall of 1999, his next stop was Hamburger SV , where he was the chief scout responsible for the screening of youngsters.
Between 2003 and 2007 Schmidt worked abroad again. He coached teams in Iran ( Persepolis Tehran ), Ghana ( King Faisal Babes , Ashante Kotoko Kumasi , All Blacks FC ), Egypt ( Ismaily SC ) and South Africa (Black Leopards). From the beginning of the 2008/09 season until December 2009, Hans-Dieter Schmidt was the sporting director of the SC BW 94 Papenburg district top division. In 2009 he coached the Ghanaian first division club Sekondi Eleven Wise FC for three months .
Since November 2015 he has been a trainer in the first Emsland / Mitte district class at SV Hemsen.
