Hans-Günter Sulimma

Hans-Günter Sulimma (born October 22, 1933 in Tschernske ) is a former German ambassador .

Life

From 1953 to 1957 he studied law and economics at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . In 1956 he passed the first state examination in law. He later passed the second state examination in law. At Harvard Law School , where he studied from 1958 to 1959, he was awarded a Master of Laws . In 1961 he was awarded a doctorate in law. From 1962 Sulimma entered the diplomatic service .

From 1964 to 1971 he was employed in the Foreign Office in Bonn , with one interruption from 1965 to 1967 . From 1965 to 1967 he was Ambassador Conakry ( Guinea ). After the years in Bonn, he moved to the embassy in Paris , before moving back to the Foreign Office in Bonn from 1973. From 1984 to July 1993 he was Africa representative in the Foreign Office. Hans-Dietrich Genscher had him in 1986 as successor to Carl Lahusen (diplomat) in Pretoria provided, but Franz Josef Strauss and Mangosuthu Buthelezi translated Immo Stabreit as ambassador through. He was ambassador to Ottawa (Canada) from 1993 to 1998. He was then retired .
