Hans-Georg Kuhn

Hans-Georg Kuhn (* 20th January 1924 in Schwedt ; † 9. May 2018 in Hamburg ) was a German politician of the CDU and member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

During his time as a member of parliament, Kuhn was first an employee, then a pensioner. He joined the CDU in 1954 and was deputy state chairman of the CDU Hamburg from 1968 to 1990 and also state chairman of the Christian-Democratic workforce in the Hanseatic city from 1968 to 1993 . In addition, he was the federal board the 24-year -union employees Germans (DAG) from 2001 ver.di .

From 1970 to 1993 he sat for the CDU in the Hamburg parliament. There he was for his parliamentary group, among other things, in the Committee on Ports, Economy and Agriculture, and for the entire duration of his parliamentary work in the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs. There he was particularly committed to the interests of employees.

In 1994 Kuhn was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany . On the occasion of Kuhn's 80th birthday, the CDU regional chief Dirk Fischer said that he had “made a decisive contribution to shaping the CDU in the Hanseatic city into a modern, successful city party with a large number of members”.
