Hans-Hilger Haunschild

Hans-Hilger Haunschild (born January 25, 1928 in Berlin ; † August 30, 2012 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

After graduating from a humanistic grammar school in Breslau , Haunschild studied law at the University of Berlin between 1948 and 1953 . After working in the Berlin judiciary from 1953 to 1955 and in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation from 1955 to 1957 , he joined the Federal Ministry for Atomic Affairs in 1957 . There he worked as a consultant in the sub-department for international cooperation and was also responsible for the Advisory Committee on Nuclear Research of Euratom . In 1962 Haunschild became Director of Programs at Euratom.

From 1971 he was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and Science . After the federal election in 1972 he became a permanent state secretary in the Federal Ministry for Research and Technology . In 1981 Hauschild ran for the post of director at the IAEA , but lost to the Philippine diplomat Domingo Siazon . In 1987 he was dismissed by the then Federal Minister Heinz Riesenhuber .
