Hans-Jörg Kreowski

Hans-Jörg Kreowski (born August 10, 1949 ) is a German computer scientist and professor at the University of Bremen . His research focus is theoretical computer science , especially in the area of ​​graph transformation and algebraic specification. He is also on the board of the Forum Computer Scientists for Peace and Social Responsibility (FIfF).

Life

Kreowski studied mathematics from 1969 to 1974 at the TU Berlin , where he then worked as a research assistant and received his doctorate in 1978 on "Manipulation of graph manipulations". In 1981 he received his habilitation in theoretical computer science and in 1982 he was appointed professor at the University of Bremen . At the latter, he was also temporarily the dean of the department for mathematics and computer science. He also heads the department's theoretical computer science working group.

Kreowski was elected a member of the learned society Leibniz Society of Sciences in Berlin in 2013.

Positions

As part of his involvement in the FIfF, Kreowski has repeatedly expressed himself critical of the Bundeswehr's involvement in the cyber and information space. He is also critical of autonomous, armed drones .

Kreowski researches theoretical computer science v. a. on topics of graph transformation , algebraic specification and syntactic methods of image generation. He has also submitted corresponding publications for this purpose.
