Hans-Jürgen Kock

Hans-Jürgen Kock (born October 17, 1958 in Iserlohn ) is a German doctor and university professor .

Life

Hans-Jürgen Kock studied human medicine in Berlin and Kiel from 1979 to 1986 and completed his practical year at the University of Durban , South Africa in 1985/86 . In 1986 he passed his state examination at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. In 1986 he was an assistant at the Anatomical Institute of Christian-Albrechts University. From 1987 to 1994 he completed his surgical training and from 1995 to 1996 his trauma surgery training at the University Hospital Essen , where he qualified as a professor in 1996 for trauma surgery . From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Graduate College Biomaterials of the German Research Foundation and in 1993 a founding member of the German Society for Biomaterials. In 2005, Kock was appointed an adjunct professor at the University of Heidelberg .

From 2005 to 2009 he was chief physician at the clinic for orthopedics and trauma surgery in the Hochtaunus clinics in Bad Homburg and Usingen. From January 1, 2010 to August 2011, he was chief physician at the Clinic for Trauma Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery at Offenbach City Hospital.

From October 2012 Kock was chief physician at the clinic for orthopedics and trauma surgery at the Neckar-Odenwald clinics in Mosbach and Buchen, but left there at the end of March 2013. In 2014 he took up a position as senior physician at the Vivantes Humboldt Clinic in Berlin. From May 2016 to October 2017 he was chief physician for orthopedics and trauma surgery at the Werra-Meißner Clinic, Eschwege and Witzenhausen

Focus of work

Kock's clinical focus is on reconstructive bone and joint surgery (AO), endoprosthetics of hip, knee and shoulder joints (AE), spinal surgery including kyphoplasty , arthroscopic surgery , sports orthopedics with knee and shoulder surgery, geriatric traumatology , pediatric traumatology and septic bone surgery .

Scientific focus is on thrombosis prophylaxis , the clinical use of biomaterials such as bone substitutes and bone cements and the use of wound antiseptics.
