Humboldt Clinic Am Nordgraben

The Vivantes Humboldt-Klinikum ( listen ? / I ) is a hospital built in 1985 in the Berlin district of Borsigwalde in the Reinickendorf district . It belongs to the clinic group of the state-owned clinic operator Vivantes and is an academic teaching hospital of the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin . Location and history

The Vivantes Humboldt-Klinikum consists of the locations Am Nordgraben (formerly: Humboldt-Krankenhaus ) and Oranienburger Straße (formerly: Karl-Bonhoeffer-Nervenklinik ). The buildings on the site of the historic site of the Humboldt Hospital on Teichstrasse are no longer officially part of the Humboldt Hospital, but are run by Vivantes as a forum for senior citizens . This first hospital for the Berlin suburbs was planned and built between 1908 and 1910 by the architects Mohr & Weidner as an association hospital for the communities of Reinickendorf, Tegel, Wittenau and Rosenthal. They also carried out the artistic processing of the interior furnishings.

As early as January 1, 1997, the two current locations merged, at that time still under the name of Reinickendorf Hospital ; the name Vivantes Humboldt Clinic has been used since Vivantes GmbH was founded . The rescue center at the Am Nordgraben location has a helicopter landing pad so that it can be approached directly by the Christoph 31 rescue helicopter used in Berlin, for example . Furthermore, an emergency vehicle from the Berlin fire brigade is permanently stationed at this location . Around 65,000 patients are treated in the clinic each year, around 40,000 of them as outpatients .

A new building for the clinic for psychiatry , psychotherapy and psychosomatics was completed on the Am Nordgraben site in 2008 ; the design for this came from the tönies + schröter + jansen office . The same office also designed the “Comfort Clinic” of the Humboldt Clinic, which opened in 2010 and is aimed particularly at patients from abroad.

In addition, one of Vivantes' two pharmacies, the Apotheke Nord , is located in the Humboldt Clinic . This not only supplies the Humboldt Clinic, but also the Spandau Clinic and the Friedrichshain Clinic .
