Hans-Jürgen Wille

Hans-Jürgen Wille (born December 22, 1930 in Stettin ; † August 10, 2004 in Lübeck ) was a German music teacher , choir director and cantor at the Marienkirche in Lübeck .

biography

After the Second World War, Wille attended the Oberschule zum Dom in Lübeck and in 1947/48 as a pupil he became a member of the Lübeck Kantorei, later Lübeck Knabenkantorei , under its director Georg Goebel. After teaching degree in the subjects German and music at the University of Hamburg , he returned in 1957 back to Lübeck, where he arrived until his retirement in 1994 Johanneum zu Lübeck worked. From 1988 he was director of the music department of this school as director of studies.

In the Lübeck Knabenkantorei he was choir prefect from 1955 as the right hand of the choirmaster Goebel and took over the direction of the choir in 1961. The choir was appointed to the choir of this church by the parish of Lübeck's Marienkirche in 1970 and from then on called itself "Lübeck Knabenkantorei an St. Marien". At the same time Wille was appointed cantor of the Marienkirche. In 1999, after more than 600 concerts with the Kantorei, he placed the office in younger hands of his successor Michael D. Müller.

The choir's important trips abroad led to Great Britain and the USA.

Wille was honored for his choir work with the Schleswig-Holstein Medal (1983), the Senate plaque of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck (1986) and in 2000 with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by Federal President Johannes Rau .
