The list of the Mainz Carnival campaigns is a chronological listing since the first organized Carnival procession in 1837. The list contains the corresponding year, the number of the procession, the respective motto and any special features.

1837 to 1939: the first 101 years

During the Second World War (1939–1945) there were no carnival events.

Since 1946

Mainz was badly hit by air raids in the last months of the Second World War . The city was largely in ruins and those responsible for the Mainz Carneval Association originally had no intention of holding a carnival event in the first year after the war. However, on the initiative of the French city commander Louis Théodore Kleinmann , the MCV organized the so-called Mainz evenings .
