Hans-Joachim Geffert

Hans-Joachim Geffert (born January 9, 1935 in Rathenow ; † March 13, 2019 in Schönebeck (Elbe) ) was a German homeland researcher and educator .

Life

After obtaining his university entrance qualification, Geffert completed a course in history and geography to become a teacher in Dresden . He then became a teacher in Klötze / Altmark . From 1958 he worked as a teacher, district specialist geography, deputy director and director at various schools in the Schönebeck district . In 1965 he was seconded to the German Central Pedagogical Institute for six months to work in the geography department and then a member of the curriculum working group of the Scientific Council . In 1970 he became a senior teacher. In 1971 he was appointed as a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Social Science Education and the Institute for Teaching Aids at the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the GDR until 1981. In 1975, he received his doctorate at the Pedagogical University in Potsdam with the dissertation Functional determination of geographical projection films in the teaching process and principles of their design a doctorate in educational sciences , after having previously acquired the qualification for teaching up to grade 12 through additional studies. In 1978 he was delegated to the Institute for Teacher Education (IfL) in Magdeburg , where future teachers in grades 1-4 were trained and where in 1980 he became a technical college lecturer and department head. In the same year he was appointed as a member of the Central Expert Commission on Local Studies and Local History Teaching Methodology at the IfL. For 6 years he also worked as head of textbook research at the IfL. In 1982 he was awarded the title of Director of Studies. In 1989 he asked for the delivery as head of department and head of research and was then only head of the local history department. In 1990, the state school board appointed him head of the project group framework guidelines for home and general education in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Since the IfL was to be wound up, he applied as a high school teacher in the Schönebeck district. From 1991 until reaching retirement age, he worked at the Barby / Elbe high school .

Geffert is the author of several publications on the city of Schönebeck (Elbe) and the district of Schönebeck . From 1958 to 1964 he volunteered at the Schönebeck City Archives and was a member of the Advisory Board of the Schönebeck District Museum until 1991. In 2005 Geffert received the City Hall Prize of the City of Schönebeck for visualizing the historical context, the city and the region around Schönebeck.
