Hans-Joachim Sternhardt
Hans-Joachim "Hajo" Sternhardt (born November 13, 1948 in Wiesbaden-Frauenstein ) is a German painter and sculptor .
Life and education
After school and apprenticeship, Sternhardt completed an apprenticeship as an advertising designer in the Hammesfahr studio, which paved the way for studying at the Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden, today Fachhochschule Wiesbaden, which he completed between 1967 and 1972.
His formative teachers were Alo Altripp , Oskar Kolb and Robert Preyer , in life drawing Erwin Schutzbach and in photography Harald Mante , he graduated as a designer in the summer semester of 1972.
On the basis of a grant from the State of Hesse, Sternhardt studied drawing and painting with Albert Zavaro from 1972–1973 at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris . From 1975–1982 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz , where he completed his first state examination in art and art history for grammar schools. He passed the 2nd state examination at the study seminar in Darmstadt , in 1987 Sternhardt was given a teaching position at the FHW (Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences) in the design department. He then worked from 1992 to 2014 as a teacher at the Marienschule Offenbach high school in Hesse.
Sternhardt was also always active as a freelance painter and sculptor.
Works
In the early years, Sternhardt's works were mostly created in his studio in Wiesbaden-Frauenstein, most of his works are in private ownership in the USA and Europe.
