Hans-Martin Müller-Laube

Hans-Martin Müller-Laube (born March 8, 1940 in Grottkau , Upper Silesia ) is a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school in Herne , Müller-Laube studied law and economics at the universities of Marburg , Lausanne , Freiburg and Bonn from 1960 to 1965 . After the state examination, he was a research assistant at the University of Bonn and then at the University of Würzburg . There he obtained his doctorate in 1972 with the work of installment loans and sales business as a doctor of both rights (Dr. iur. Utr.). After obtaining his doctorate, he passed his second state examination in law in Bavaria and then completed his habilitation in 1977 as a senior research assistant at the University of Würzburg with the thesis The Reception Responsibility in Civil Law for Civil Law and Commercial Law . In 1979 he expanded his teaching license to include business law .

From 1978 to 1981 Müller-Laube professor at the University of Trier before a 1981 call to the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial and Business Law at the University of Göttingen accepted. In 1992 he moved to the University of Halle as one of the founding professors of the new law faculty . After teaching there since 1991, he took over the Chair of Civil Law I.

In 1996 Müller-Laube followed a call back to the University of Göttingen for family reasons. There he took up his old chair as a university professor. In addition, he has been a member of the board of the Soltenborn Foundation since 1996 and a member of the board of the Göttingen student union since 1997 . Despite his retirement, Müller-Laube continued to teach.

Research priorities

Müller-Laube deals with civil law, commercial and business law. He also has expertise in civil procedure law , copyright law , patent law and unfair competition law . He spent research stays in China in 1985 , in South Korea in 1990 , in Japan in 2002 and in Vietnam in 2003 .
