Hans-Peter Hillig

Hans-Peter Hillig (born January 6, 1934 in Leipzig ) is a German lawyer .

Life

Hans-Peter Hillig comes from the Leipzig family of lawyers Hillig and the Leipzig merchant Gender Schomburgk . He attended the St. Thomas School in Leipzig until 1952 . From 1953 he studied law at the University of Cologne . In 1957 he passed the first state examination and in 1961 the second state examination. In 1962 he became a lawyer and worked until 1971 as General Counsel at West German commercial television and to 1997 as Deputy General Counsel at the same time as broadcast data protection officer of the WDR . Until 1997 he was chairman of the ARD / ZDF working group on copyright. At hearings in the Federal Ministry of Justice, in the Legal Committee of the German Bundestag and in the Legal Committee of the European Parliament, he advocated the interests-based design of broadcast copyright law. In addition, until 1997 he was chairman of the supervisory board of the VFF-Verwertungsgesellschaft der Film- und Fernsehproduanzig GmbH . He publishes on copyright , publishing , broadcasting and media law. He has been a long-standing member of the specialist committee for copyright and publishing law of the German Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright and primarily works as a lawyer in the field of copyright and media law. He is the descendant of the Justice Council Curt Hillig , the entrepreneur Walter Schlobach and the publisher Benedictus Gotthelf Teubner .
