Hans-Werner Clasen (born May 11, 1929 in Hamburg-Rahlstedt ) is a German music teacher , organist and composer .

Career

Hans-Werner Clasen studied church music and school music in Lübeck with a focus on composition in Lübeck and Hamburg. His main occupation was music teacher at the Auguste-Viktoria-Schule in Flensburg (most recently as senior teacher ), he also appeared as an organist. From 1970 he also published his own scores; his regular publisher was Fidula .

Clasen's own compositions were mostly based on texts by well-known poets, and Clasen's choral pieces were also based on compositions by other musicians. He has also written teaching works and piano schools, most recently Tatort: ​​Klavier (2008). The school musician worked several times with the children's book author Rolf Krenzer , for whose play One Day Only Be Sultan! Clasen wrote the songs and dances in the 1980s. It was published with Clasens Musik by Deutsches Theaterverlag and is still performed today.

Clasen not only composed for children and young people, but also composed works for an adult audience, e.g. B. choral works, sacred song settings or settings of Low German poems.
