Hans Boehringer

Johannes Josef ("Hans") Böhringer (born April 14, 1915 in Neckarsulm ; † February 17, 1987 or February 18, 1987 ) was a German theologian , musicologist and psychotherapist . As a professor , he has published numerous writings on everyday religious issues from a depth psychological perspective.

He was the son of NSU director Josef August Böhringer (1883–1972), attended elementary school and Latin school in Neckarsulm and finally the Heilbronn Karlsgymnasium , where he graduated from high school in 1934. Until 1938 he studied theology in Tubingen, then he entered the Rottenburger seminary , where he on 25 March 1939. priest was ordained. During the war years from 1939 to 1945, Böhringer worked as a vicar in Waiblingen . There he was an important contact person for groups from the Catholic underground. The Gestapo brought him into connection with the Scholl siblings , but he was saved from persecution. Also during the war years he studied Catholic church music for nine semesters at the University of Music in Stuttgart. After the end of the war he was a pastor in Schwäbisch Gmünd before he was given a year of leave in 1947 to complete his studies in church music with Hugo Distler and Johann Nepomuk David . His thesis dealt with the organ building of the Hochstift Paderborn . From 1949 to 1953 he was vicar in Eßlingen am Neckar and chaplain in Stuttgart. From 1953 he was an organ expert for various dean's offices, and he also took a position as a religion teacher at the Wilhelmsgymnasium Stuttgart and the Zeppelin-Gymnasium Stuttgart . At the same time he began training as a psychotherapist at the Stuttgart Academy for Psychotherapy. In 1972 he was appointed professor and took over the department for sex education and drug addiction prevention at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education .

Böhringer was buried on February 25, 1987 in the old cemetery in Neckarsulm.
