Live and act

Hans Daniel was born as the son of the married couple Bernhard Daniel and Maria Woldering. After graduating from school, he worked for three years in various local administrations before he was employed by the Münster government as a government supernumerary. He was a soldier in the First World War .

In March 1922 he was given the job of a secretary at the Borken district office. With an interruption due to military service in World War II - Daniel was captain of the artillery from 1941 to 1943 - he stayed with the Borken district office and in 1945 was deputy to Peter Cremerius .

When Cremerius was arrested by the British occupation at the end of March 1945, they appointed Daniel as "captain" of the Borken district. In the administration as well as in the population there was rejection of the way he was in office, so that in November 1945 he submitted a resignation with the condition that he be transferred to his previous position (chief government inspector, deputy district administrator). This was fulfilled on January 3, 1946 by handing over the certificate of appointment. His successor as district administrator was for a short time - from the beginning of January 1946 to April 3, 1946 - Horst Strunden .

Daniel became district inspector in April 1948 and retired as district administrator on June 30, 1958. He was married to Josefine Berlage.
