Hans Renzel (born July 16, 1904 in Borken ; † October 14, 1958 ) was a wood sculptor and politician, first of the Center Party and later of the CDU .

education and profession

Renzel did an apprenticeship as a wood sculptor and from 1922 attended the arts and crafts school in Essen-Rüttenscheid . Between 1924 and 1925 he went on a hike to gain experience and worked in Cologne , Stuttgart , Nagold and Lahr . Since 1930 Renzel worked as a freelance wood sculptor in Borken.

politics

Renzel was a member of the Center Party and was involved in the local Kolping Family . He was also a city councilor from 1932 to 1934.

After 1945 Renzel joined the CDU and was district chairman of the party from 1945 to 1948 and since 1951. He was again a member of the city council and the district council of the Borken district . From October 1946 to 1952 he served as district administrator.

Renzel was a member of the Provincial Council of Westphalia in 1946 and a member of the appointed Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1946 and 1947 . He was then directly elected member of the state parliament for the constituency of Borken-Bocholt until 1954.
