Hans Detlefsen

Hans Detlefsen (born June 2, 1923 in Tilsit ; † June 1992 in Chemnitz ) was a German postage stamp designer and commercial artist .

Life

He attended the Neustadt school from 1929 to 1937 and then completed an apprenticeship as a painter until 1940. After the expulsion, he attended the master school for the creative craft from 1947 to 1948, after which he worked as a poster painter. From 1954 to 1957 he was advertising manager and from 1957 to 1960 atelier manager of DEWAG in Karl-Marx-Stadt . From 1965 to 1992 Detlefsen worked in the designer team with Manfred Gottschall and Joachim Rieß . Since then he has been freelance and a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR . He mainly designed stamp series for the GDR, signets and posters and, after 1989, also stamps for the Federal Republic.
