Hans Dieter Tylle (born March 24, 1954 in Bayreuth ) is a German visual artist ( painter ). His artistic focus is on realistic paintings from the world of work and landscapes.

Live and act

Hans Dieter Tylle grew up in Bayreuth. After graduating from the Graf-Münster-Gymnasium , he had his first solo exhibition in Bayreuth.

From 1975 to 1980 he studied fine art at the Kunsthochschule Kassel with Manfred Bluth , who attached great importance to a classical academic education. Hans Dieter Tylle perfected his skills in plein air painting on several weeks of trips to France, Spain, Italy and Scotland . At the same time, he expanded his craftsmanship in nude and portrait painting. From this he developed his method, which is still used today, to approach his pictorial theme of the world of work. He records the situation in industrial companies - sometimes under extreme conditions, such as in coal mining or at blast furnaces - in small-format oil studies, and then carries out large-format oil paintings in the studio, in which workers are often models for him.

In 1982 he won first prize in the competition “The world of work in the visual arts” in Karlsruhe. Until 1983 he taught life drawing at the art college in Kassel. In 1987 he took part in the 7th International Plein air in Eisleben in the GDR . In 1990 he helped found the Artists' Association in Germany and was its deputy chairman from 1996 to 1998.

In 1999 the Kley -Art-Foundation commissioned Hans Dieter Tylle with a painting for the 10th anniversary of the reunification. The result was the 240 cm × 620 cm triptych November 9th in Deuna, the morning after .

Since 2002 his artistic work has shifted to the USA , where he was artistically active in various branches of industry. His artistic expression was further enriched by commissions for the Grohmann Museum in Milwaukee, for which he created a 60 m² ceiling painting and a 32 m³ exterior wall painting from 2006 to 2008 and provided the designs for a floor mosaic and eight glass windows.

In the meantime, he has implemented the modern work situation in over 100 companies in Europe and the USA. Nevertheless, landscape painting does not let go of him. But even here he often looks for the extreme landscape, e.g. B. in Iceland , North Africa or Japan .

Second marriage to the writer Brigitte Endres , HD Tylle now lives and works in Kassel, Munich and Milwaukee, USA.
