Hans Dresig

Hans Dresig (born January 31, 1937 in Dölau ; † April 25, 2018 in Auerswalde ) was a German professor of technical mechanics and author .

After attending the workers and farmers faculty in Halle (Saale) , Hans Dresig studied at the Technical University of Dresden from 1954 to 1960 and received his doctorate there in 1965 on the subject of determining dynamic loads on luffing cranes . Then worked as head of research and development at Kranbau Eberswalde . From 1969 he worked as a university lecturer at the chair of machine dynamics at the Technical University of Chemnitz . In 1971 he completed his habilitation on Contribution to the Optimization of Motion Sequences in Machine Dynamics . In 1978 he was appointed professor for technical mechanics and head of the chair of machine dynamics / vibration theory .

After retiring in 2002, he worked as a freelance speaker, consultant and appraiser. From 2009 to 2013, he taught as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Nanjing Agricultural University in China .

Together with Franz Holzweißig he wrote the standard work Machine Dynamics . In 1999, Hans Dresig was awarded the Fritz Kesselring Medal of Honor of the VDI for his commitment to the development of VDI guidelines .
