Hans Drewanz
Hans Drewanz (born December 2, 1929 in Dresden , † June 22, 2021 in Darmstadt ) was a German conductor and university professor .
Life
Hans Drewanz was a student at the Musisches Gymnasium in Frankfurt until the end of the war in 1945 . After studying music at the Frankfurt University of Music , he was assistant to Sir Georg Solti at the Municipal Theaters in Frankfurt am Main from 1953 to 1959 and first Kapellmeister at the Wuppertal Opera House from 1959 to 1963 .
From 1963 to 1994 Drewanz worked as general music director at the music theater of the Darmstadt State Theater , of which he became an honorary member. In 1997 he became first guest conductor and musical advisory board member at the Stadttheater Bern .
Since 1984 Drewanz has also been a professor at the Saarland University of Music .

- 1994: Silver plaque of merit from the city of Darmstadt , Goethe plaque from the state of Hesse
