Hans Ebeling (philosopher)

Hans Ebeling (born August 8, 1939 in Braunschweig ) is a German philosopher .

Ebeling studied philosophy in Tübingen and Freiburg im Breisgau , with Ernst Bloch in Tübingen and with Martin Heidegger in Freiburg. In 1967 Ebeling received his doctorate from the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , followed by his habilitation in 1975. He taught in Freiburg as a private lecturer and from 1973 to 1976 had a teaching position at the University of Heidelberg . In 1978/79 he took over a professorship at the Free University of Berlin and in 1980/81 at the University of Frankfurt am Main , in 1981 an extraordinary professorship at the University of Freiburg and in 1982 a visiting professorship at the University of Klagenfurt. From 1981 until his retirement in 2004 he was full professor of philosophy at the University of Paderborn .
