Hans Ebeling (history teacher)

Hans Ebeling (born August 4, 1906 in Burg near Magdeburg , † May 26, 1967 in Braunschweig ) was a German history didactic and textbook author.

Live and act

Ebeling was born the son of a teacher and studied German, history and philosophy at the University of Leipzig . In 1929 he became a primary school teacher. After fleeing the Soviet occupation zone , he became a teacher and school councilor in Helmstedt and Braunschweig. He brought out The Journey into the Past , an important history book for community, elementary and secondary schools ; it was further developed by Wolfgang Birkenfeld after his death . He was particularly innovative on the subject of methods and recommended early on what was described as action-oriented teaching much later .
