Hans Erich Schött

Hans Erich Schött (born April 18, 1940 in Freiburg ) is a German politician , former member of the FDP .

Life and politics

After studying pharmacy and doing his doctorate, Schött set up a self-employed pharmacist in Endingen am Kaiserstuhl . He also works as a winemaker on the side.

His political activity began in 1963 as a founding member of the FDP-affiliated local list “Endinger Bürgergemeinschaft”, for which Schött was a member of the Endingen local council for several years. In the 1970s he intensified his commitment as an active opponent of the planned Wyhl nuclear power plant . For the FDP he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg in 1976 , where he represented the constituency of Emmendingen through a second mandate until 1984 . In the state parliament, Schött mainly dealt with environmental issues.

Hans Erich Schött was a long-time member of the board of trustees at the Öko-Institut Freiburg and, contrary to the majority position of the FDP, represents positions critical of nuclear power . The later FDP member of the state parliament from the constituency of Emmendingen (2006-2011), Dieter Ehret from Weisweil , like Schött, advocates sticking to the nuclear phase-out . In 2011 both finally announced their exit from the party in quick succession.
