Hans Fischer (age gymnast)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans Fischer (born October 15, 1920 , † September 28, 2003 ) was an old age gymnast who achieved international fame as a show star.

In doing so, he was a role model with his achievements and practiced principles. He formulated his mission as follows: “I am happy when people keep saying that I am a role model for them and that they want to emulate me. I experience that more often. I see that as my mission for our beautiful gymnastics! "

Trainer

After almost ten years of being a prisoner of war in the Soviet Union, Hans Fischer began his coaching career with a university degree in coaching at the DHfK in Leipzig . He worked as a full-time trainer in the Lauchhammer area and with the SC activist Brieske-Senftenberg , later as a trainer at the KJS Forst and as a district trainer for the Cottbus district . In addition, he acted as a member of the DTV's youth commission , regularly attended advanced training courses at the DTB and was the holder of the Trainer A license until 1999.

Age gymnast

Hans Fischer began his gymnastics career in 1927, initially as a recreational athlete. It was only after he reached retirement age that he began to intensively build up his benefits. Here he worked strictly according to his training theory and followed it with unyielding discipline. In the retirement years, he completed 192 competitions, in which he won 170. Among them were u. a. German gymnastics festivals, German championships in senior gymnastics and the Jahn memorial gymnastics festival in Freyburg (Unstrut) . His competition record was in 1997 with 17 gymnastics competitions, followed by 2001, when he was 81 years old in 15 gymnastics competitions.

Show star

Fischer's skills have brought him appearances at shows in Germany , the Czech Republic , Austria , Switzerland , Italy and Spain . The highlight was the multiple participation in the STB and DTB gala in front of more than 20,000 people. He particularly enjoyed doing gymnastics in front of the local Lausitz audience at the annual championship tournament in Cottbus. His fame drew the attention of the press to him.

Further developer of gymnastics

Like Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, Hans Fischer was a patriot of the gymnastics movement and saw his work not only on the gymnasium or in the gym, but also in the design of the framework conditions in numerous committees, discussions with officials and in publications. Like Jahn, he worked as a teacher and offered gymnastics training in sports clubs outside of school. He saw more of a variety of physical exercises in gymnastics. So he set the best example and practiced a variety of movements u. a. by swimming, cycling or endurance running. He used his fame and media contacts for a dialogue with society, popular and top-class sport. Hans Fischer didn't want to and couldn't look away. He always kept up to date with the latest developments and followed them critically.

Since the ideals and values of Hans Fischer should not be lost with his death, the so-called Hans Fischer test is carried out at the Freyburger Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn memorial exercise. In addition, a Hans Fischer Cup is awarded annually at the Cottbus Turn Memorial. Until the end of 2006 there was a special exhibition about Hans Fischer in the Freyburger Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Museum.
